Modern style saree draping

In recent years, modern saree drapery has grown in popularity, particularly among newer generations. It is a combination of traditional and modern styles and can be viewed as a means to give the traditional saree new life.
Some prominent modern style saree draping techniques include:

  1. Dhoti Style Draping: This style is a combination of the saree and the dhoti. It entails draping the saree like a dhoti and tucking it in at the midriff. This style is an excellent method to modernise a traditional saree.
  2. Pant Style Draping: This style involves wearing fitted trousers or leggings underneath the saree and draping the saree so that the pants are visible. This design is ideal for those who wish to incorporate a contemporary element into their traditional saree.
  3. Lehenga-design Draping: In this design, the saree is draped in a manner resembling a lehenga. The saree is wrapped around the midriff, and the front pleats are tucked in. The pallu is draped in a manner similar to that of a dupatta.
  4. Butterfly style Draping: This design involves draping the saree in a manner that creates the appearance of a butterfly. The pallu is draped over the shoulders, and the pleats are inserted into the waist of the saree.
  5. Belted Style Draping: This style involves draping the saree with a belt around the midriff. The saree is draped in a traditional manner, but the belt gives the ensemble a contemporary touch.

Modern saree draping is all about experimenting with various styles and having fun with them. With so many options available, there is no limit to the saree’s versatility.
