A manicure is a beautifying procedure for the hands and nails. It includes manicure shaping, filing, and polishing, as well as moisturising and massaging the hands. Manicures can be performed by a trained professional at home or in a salon.
Here are the stages of a fundamental manicure:

  1. Removing old nail polish: Old nail polish is removed using nail polish remover and cotton pads if it is present on the nails.
  2. Shaping the nails: Using a nail file, the cuticles are shaped in accordance with the client’s preferences. The shape of the nails can be circular, squared, or pointed.
  3. Soaking the hands: To soften the epidermis and cuticles, the hands are soaked in warm water.
  4. Pushing back the cuticles: Using a cuticle pusher, the cuticles are forced back to expose the nail bed.
5.Cuticle trimming: Excess cuticles are trimmed with cuticle clippers or scissors.
  5. Exfoliating: Using a hand exfoliator, the hands are exfoliated to eliminate dead skin cells.
  6. Moiturizing: A moisturiser is applied to the hands in order to hydrate the epidermis.
  7. Massaging: The palms are massaged to increase blood circulation and promote relaxation.
  8. Applying nail polish: The nail varnish is applied to the nails in layers, waiting for each layer to dry before applying the next.
  9. Applying a top coat: Applying a clear top coat protects and adds luster to the nail polish.

In addition to hand masks, paraffin wax therapies, and nail art, manicures may also include additional treatments.
The appearance and health of the hands and nails can be improved with regular manicures. Additionally, they can promote relaxation and stress relief.
